Cane-wielding woman sought for Greenwich Village beatdown

Cops are looking for the public’s assistance in finding an assailant who bashed a 25-year-old woman in the head with her cane last month.

According to information released on Jan. 6, the attack happened outside of 13 Gay Street in Greenwich Village at about 10 p.m. on Dec. 11.

Law enforcement sources said the female attacker approached the 25-year-old victim and began striking her head repeatedly with her cane, causing minor lacerations and bleeding, police sources said.

Officers from the 6th Precinct responded to the incident. EMS rushed the victim to nearby Lenox Hill Healthplex, where she was treated and released, according to the NYPD.

 Nothing was stolen from the beaten woman, police sources indicated.

Police described the suspect as a Hispanic woman between 25 and 30 years of age. The NYPD released an image of her on Monday.
