Community planting

Around 150 Downtown residents showed up to plant kale and tulip bulbs at the Downtown Alliance’s community planting day last Saturday. Families came all bundled up, some in costume, on the cold fall day in which the rain stayed away. Margaret Chin, top right, Democratic nominee for the City Council in Lower Manhattan, a Finacial District resident, helped plant some kale.
