D-backs bite Marlins, 16-5, in Minors

Cameron Finkle smashed a grand slam and Jackson Fraser contributed a bases-loaded triple to lead the Diamondbacks to a 16-5 victory over the Marlins on May 14 in Greenwich Village Minor League play. D-backs pitcher T.J. Blitzer stroked two singles and retired the first six Marlin batters he faced, striking out three of them. The Marlins finally got on the board in the top of the third when Eric Blohm doubled and scored on Jack Staffen’s single. An inning later, Zack Green’s bases-loaded single and some very aggressive base running accounted for the rest of the Marlins’ scoring.
