Duane, Miller compute for P.S. 19

State Senator Thomas Duane and Council Speaker Gifford Miller visited students, faculty and staff of P.S. 19, at 185 First Ave. last week, to highlight the installation of new computers and equipment in the school’s computer lab. They were joined by Principal Ivan Kushner, members of the P.S. 19 Parent Association and representatives from the United Federation of Teachers. Duane and Miller were instrumental in securing 29 brand-new computers that were acquired with $100,000 in city capital funds.

“I believe that all New York City students need access to the most up-to-date learning tools and the computers at P.S. 19 will contribute to the ability of the students to reach their highest educational potential,” said Duane.

Said Miller, “In funding new computers for the students of P.S. 19, the Council is taking another important step to secure their educational future for years to come.”
