“Erroneous” payments to retired cops and firefighers to be corrected

More than 30,000 retired police officers and firefighters have received duplicate retirement payments.

City Comptroller Scott Stringer said $298,475,644 in payments were deposited electronically in their bank accounts, but that the mistake will be reversed by Friday.
