Gallery Viet nam Tribecan Michael Schenker traveled to Vietnam and South West China photographing “hill tribes.” This photograph of a young girl was taken near Vinh Long, Mekong Delta. Hill tribes earned their name over the centuries by fleeing to the hills during periods of war and oppression. Gradually they developed their own identity, including artwork, language, and music that has thrived in virtual isolation from the outside world.
