A memorial for former Councilmember Miriam Friedlander will be held Thurs., Nov. 12, in the City Hall Council Chambers, starting at 5:30 p.m. Friedlander, who died at the age of 95 on Oct. 4, represented much of Downtown from 1974 to 1991. She was a champion of gay and women’s rights, and led some of the anti-gentirfication efforts in the East Village.
