Grave ceremony

Reverend Carl Cooper, center, Bishop of St. David’s, blessed a recently restored grave marker of Francis Lewis, one of the Declaration of Independence’s signers, at the historic Trinity Church graveyard in Lower Manhattan on Ash Wednesday, March 1. The Welshman was one of many prominent Americans who have connections to the Trinity/St. Paul’s parish, a group that includes George Washington and Alexander Hamilton.
