Detectives say they are hunting for a knife-wielding suspect in a pink coat behind a recent Harlem stabbing just steps away from a cellphone store.
According to police sources, the incident unfolded just after 6 p.m. on Jan. 26 in front of a Verizon store at 166 West 125th St.
Cops say the perpetrator, wearing a large pink coat and black pants, approached the victim, a 37-year-old man. He then pulled out a knife and went on the attack — stabbing the victim in the chest and slashing him in the left side of the face.

The motive for the attack is unknown at this time. Sources familiar with the incident report that the victim was uncooperative with police.
Following the assault, police said, the perpetrator fled on foot in an unknown direction.
Officers from the 28th Precinct responded to the attack. EMS rushed the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals-Harlem, where he was listed in stable condition.
No arrests have been made. On Wednesday, the NYPD released images of the suspect, hoping for help from the public in tracking him down.
