Hearings continue on Bond building

The Board of Standards and Appeals on Feb. 3 decided to continue its hearings on March 10 on the application by developer Richard Born for a variance to build an 11-story residential building at 32-40 Bond St. in a Noho manufacturing zone.

Community Board 2 in March of 2003 recommended that the application for the 129-ft.-tall building be denied on the grounds that it was too tall.

Born, however, said that if the variance were denied, a taller hotel could be built on the site. The Noho Neighborhood Alliance, however, has agreed conditionally to support the application.

The March 10 B.S.A. special hearing will have only the Bond St. building on the agenda.
