Police arrested a homeless man who they say sexually assaulted a woman on a Brooklyn street corner.
According to authorities, at 12:15 a.m. on June 17, a 29-year-old woman was walking to a local bodega when she was approached by an unknown man at the corner of Cooper Street and Central Avenue. The suspect demanded that the victim perform a sex act on him.
When the victim refused, the suspect grabbed her hand and forced it onto his exposed private parts. The victim and the suspect then fled the scene. The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.
Following an ongoing investigation, officers arrested 40-year-old Nicholas Caldwell on July 10. Caldwell, who the NYPD says is homeless, was charged with sexual abuse and attempted criminal sex act.
