In Tompkins Square Park, East Villagers took a typically eclectic approach to the record-setting blizzard last weekend. Clockwise from top: On Sunday, a group of friends from around E. Fifth St. went traditional by building a snowman, including, from left to right, front row, Teddy and Caro, and back row, Christian, Jules and Jason; mom and daughter Zoe and Lola, 5, from E. Second St. enjoyed sledding on a small rise in the park’s center; using turmeric, cinnamon, parsley, paprika and hibiscus he bought from an Indian spice shop on First Ave., Christopher Wood of E. Third St., left, created a fragrant artwork on top of the snow entitled “ova strophe;” photographer Allison used the fresh white backdrop to photograph model Erin.
