The Henry Street Settlement was awarded a grant of $80,000 from the New York Community Trust for a program offering internships, summer jobs and academic training to teenagers living in New York City Housing Authority projects on the Lower East Side.
aThe Henry Street award was one of 119 grants totaling $7.9 million that the New York Community Trust made on June 13 to nonprofit service and community development agencies in the city. The Community Trust, founded in 1924, is the second largest community foundation in the United States and made a total of $166 million in grants in 2007.
