According to the Cityfeet real estate information service, Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto has partnered with Steven Starr’s Starr Restaurant Organization to sublease 12,000 sq. ft. from the Food Network, which carries the Iron Chef TV program, and has extended the deal directly with the owners of the Chelsea Market to the year 2020.
Also, Buddakan is taking the corner at 75 Ninth Ave. in what was going to be Budda Bar, which had done demolition and started to build the 17,000 sq. ft. space. Buddakan did a direct deal from the ownership for 20 years with rent “north of $670,000 a year to begin.”
