A wine tasting event will be held next Wednesday to raise money for Gulf Coast evacuees. Battery Park City Cares and Battery Park City CERT will host the event. BPC Cares was created in response to the Tsunami disaster in an effort to return the support the Battery Park City community received following 9/11. The Battery Park City CERT team has been helping in search and relief efforts in New Orleans since the hurricanes hit. Money raised at the benefit will help CERT continue to help on the ground and will help fund other relief projects.
“A Toast for the Gulf Coast” will be held from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Broker’s Loft at Embassy Suites, located on the corner of North End Avenue and Vesey Street in Battery Park City. Tickets are $55 and can be purchased in advance by calling 917 846 1490 or at the door.
