Man stabbed in neck in Lower East Side: cops

A man is recovering at a local hospital on Sunday after being stabbed in the neck on the Lower East Side, police reported.

According to police sources, the attack took place on Orchard Street between Hester and Grand Streets at 1 a.m. on Sept. 14.

Officers from the 7th Precinct responded to reports of an assault. Upon arriving at the scene, they found a 30-year-old man with a stab wound to the neck. Police described the injury as a puncture wound.

EMS rushed the victim to Bellevue Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

Cops have not given a motive for the attack. Police say they are searching for a man with a red hooded sweatshirt in connection with the attack, who was last seen fleeing northbound on Orchard Street.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
