N.Y.U. will pay for Moving Day parking hassle

New York University’s annual “Moving-In Day,” which will see thousands of students arrive at N.Y.U. residence halls, is Sun., Aug. 24, this year, when parking, except for drop-offs, will be prohibited in front of N.YU. dorms.

Recognizing the potential impact on neighbors, N.Y.U. is offering to reimburse the cost of a garage parking stay for up to 24 hours that day for local residents between Houston and 14th Sts. and between Sixth and Second Aves.

Residents seeking reimbursement may bring their original parking receipt and proof of residency to the university’s Office of Government and Community Affairs between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday to Friday or mail it to the O.G.C.A. at 25 W. Fourth St., fifth floor, New York, NY 10012. The office can been reached by phone at 212-998-2400, by e-mail at community.affairs@nyu.edu or on the Web at www.nyu.edu/ogca.
