Not surprising

Re “Facade change for lower floors of One W.T.C.” (news article, May 18)

I am not surprised to hear that the so-called 1 W.T.C. will not have a glass facade as planned. As usual, the price for something increases and shows how over-budget some of the assets really are.  Even making the glass in China didn’t make it cheaper for the Port Authority, despite the job being outsourced in an attempt to do so.

Rather than going for an immediate redesign, they should stop all construction on this building and the other one, and just have the Twin Towers rebuilt to save them both money and time. Also, the bunker at the lower floors is sort of a contradiction to going green especially since those floors will not even receive any sunlight, and will have to resort to electrical light instead.
