NYU Downtown Hospital has transformed its lobby

into an art gallery with new contemporary furnishings. The first art exhibition features Regina Silvers, a well-known local artist and longtime Tribeca resident.

The lobby renovations at 170 William St. were done by www.appleseedNYC.com, an interactive community Web site dedicated to Lower Manhattan, and West Elm which is a contemporary furnishing and accessories company who’s designs have recently featured on “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.”

The “Up Close” exhibit by Silvers is the first in a series of rotating art exhibits in the hospital’s new lobby area. Silvers, the founder of the Tribeca Open Artist Studio Tour, is a contemporary impressionist whose work has been featured in many of the city’s top traditional galleries, as well as alternative art space all over the city.
