A nasty car crash at the corner of Chambers and Church Sts. Saturday almost hit exposed gas and electrical lines, but luckily the utilities survived unscathed, officials said.

The black pickup truck apparently went out of control around 11:40 a.m. and ended up in a construction site near the intersection, a Fire Department spokesperson said.

Minutes later, firefighters, police and Con Edison workers arrived on the scene to investigate the crash, fearing an impact on the utilities that had been exposed by the construction work.

The driver of the vehicle, Moises Benitez, 39, of Brooklyn, was not injured, but was arrested for driving without a license, police said.

A Con Ed spokesperson said that there was no damage to either the gas or electrical mains, calling it a “very fortunate situation.”
