Broken window arrest
A group of teenagers from Chelsea Vocational High School in Hudson Square went on a window-breaking spree at about 11 a.m. Fri. March 17, and smashed glass at Space Salon, 155 Sixth Ave., and in cars parked near the school, said Captain Anthony Bologna, commander of the First Precinct. A 15-year-old dropped a slingshot as police chased him west on Spring St. He was arrested west of Hudson St., and charged with malicious mischief, police said.
Bus mayhem
A group of young men went on a rampage on a southbound city bus in the Financial District at about 1 p.m. Fri. March 17, beat up one passenger, intimidated the driver and fled at Water and Broad Sts., police said. There were no arrests.
Murder trial postponed
The murder trial of Michael Brown for the Sept. 21, 2005 shooting death of Thomas McKinney was rescheduled for March 30 before Criminal Court Judge James A. Yates. The trial was scheduled to start March 16.
The shooting occurred on the street in front of Mission Bar and Lounge after an argument that started inside the bar over a spilled drink that involved four women who were with Brown and McKinney. A homeless man, Jeffrey Dudley, who was lying on the sidewalk near Mission Bar and Lounge was injured in the shooting.
