Open door
A couple who returned to their apartment at 11 Maiden La. on Thursday evening, March 10 from a trip found that $150 and a camera had been stolen, police said. The victims told police that they had left their door unlocked when they left.
Left wallet, lost it
A woman who left her wallet on a counter by mistake while shopping at the Closeout discount store, 145 Fulton St., on Monday evening March 14 returned at 7 p.m. to retrieve it but it was gone, police said. The wallet had her credit cards and personal papers.
Sandwich shop burglary
The manager of a sandwich shop at 106 Greenwich St. between Rector and Carlisle Sts. told police at 5:30 p.m. Tues. March 15 that someone had taken $400 in cash, a laptop computer, other electronic office equipment and several drinking glasses. There was no sign of forced entry but the building is accessible because of construction, police said.
Cell phones stolen
The manager of a cell phone store opened the shop at 6 Beekman St. near Nassau St. at 10 a.m. Tues. March 15 and found the glass in the front door broken and a glass display case inside smashed, police said. The thief made off with several cell phones.
Wallet lifted
A woman told police that she withdrew money from an A.T.M. at the Washington Mutual branch at 270 Broadway at Chambers St. on Thursday afternoon, March 10, put the money in her wallet and the wallet in her purse and left the bank. She later discovered the wallet was missing and told police that a man had bumped into her as she was leaving the bank.
