A double shooting in Queens just after midnight Thursday left one man dead and another hospitalized, police reported.
Law enforcement sources said the gun violence erupted at the corner of New Haven Avenue and Beach 19th Street in Far Rockaway at about 12:20 a.m. on May 29.
Officers from the 101st Precinct, in responding to a 911 call about shots fired in the area, found two victims at the location: a 42-year-old man shot multiple times in the torso, and a 36-year-old man who took a bullet to his back.

Based on a preliminary investigation, sources familiar with the case said, the two victims, who were friends, were walking through the area when they were approached by a pair of suspects described only as men wearing all-black clothing.
Moments later, both victims were shot. The motive for the shooting, however, remains unknown at this time, law enforcement sources said.
EMS rushed both victims to Jamaica Hospital. The 42-year-old man was pronounced dead a short time later; police have not yet released his identity, pending family notification.
Cops said the 36-year-old man, meanwhile, remains in stable condition.
So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police said.
