On April 29, at 2 p.m., at the Greenwich House Senior Center, at 27 Barrow St., the winners of the Greenwich House Poetry Group’s contest will be awarded. The contest is only for Stuyvesant High School seniors, with a top prize of $250. Sarah Zenis, poet leader of the Greenwich House Poetry Group/Poetry for You and Me, said, “This is the first time we’ve done it. April is poetry month.” The idea was to have a senior connection — senior citizens and high school seniors. “We’re starting to analyze the poems,” Zenis said. “The entries are up till the end of March.” They plan to invite Schools Chancellor Klein and Mayor Bloomberg to the event.
