Police are on the hunt for a suspect after a woman told police that a man tried to rape her in Prospect Park early Wednesday morning.
Police said the 23-year-old woman told officers she was jogging in the park near Garfield Place and Prospect Park West around 5:15 a.m. when a man approached her from behind and threw her to the ground.
Police said he then took out a knife and told the victim he was going to sexually assault her. The victim resisted and she was cut on her finger during the struggle, police said. The suspect then fled, police said.
The victim was taken to New York Methodist Hospital in stable condition, police said.
Police released a sketch of the suspect early Thursday morning. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black pants with white lettering on one leg and black sneakers with white bottoms, police said.
