Police are investigating the death of a 1-year-old girl on Staten Island whose family reportedly has a history with the Administration for Children’s Services.

Bianca Abdul was found unconscious and unresponsive by her mother inside their home on Moreland Street in Midland Beach around 8:05 a.m. on Monday, police said.

Though she had no outward signs of trauma to her body, Bianca was pronounced dead at Staten Island University North Hospital, according to cops.

During an interview with the child’s mother, a police source said she admitted that Bianca had fallen and hit her head several days earlier, but appeared to be fine so she was never taken to the hospital.

“We are investigating this incident along with the NYPD. We await the medical examiner’s review,” an ACS spokesperson said in an emailed statement. The family has previously been investigated by ACS, according to published reports.

A man reportedly identified as the baby’s father was handcuffed in front of the home on Tuesday, but it remains unclear what he was taken into custody for, the Staten Island Advance reported.

Police said they are questioning members of the baby’s family, but so far no arrests have been made in the case.

The city medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
