Manhattan cops are looking for the suspect who shot and wounded a teenager on Sunday night.
According to police sources, the shooting happened at about 9:40 p.m. on June 16 near the corner of West 186th Street and Wadsworth Avenue in Washington Heights.
Officers from the 34th Precinct responded to the scene after receiving several 911 calls of the gunfire. Upon arrival, they found the victim, a 17-year-old boy, with multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen.
EMS rushed the victim to Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where he is expected to survive.
Police learned that the shooting suspect fled the scene southbound along Wadsworth Avenue; no further description of the shooter was provided.
The motive for the shooting remains unknown and under investigation. At this time, it appears to be unconnected to a deadly shooting further uptown in Inwood two hours later, where two men were fatally shot outside a restaurant.
