Trinity Church has been offering a different approach to finding the way back into the job market in the wake of the shakeups on nearby Wall St. With a number of new programs dedicated to the financial crisis, the groups are set to integrate psychological counseling with spiritual discovery.
“Work is such an important part of our well being,” said Mark D’Alessio president of Psychotherapy & Spirituality Institute, which runs the programs with Trinity. “We are here to provide a safe place for share experiences and work towards finding a way through to the next day.”
Since 2001, the P.S.I. has been doing intimate counseling sessions but have been running more job-related programs since last fall. Work-related hour and a half sessions have become popular among intimate groups of 12-15 people. The combination of expertise in career work and personal therapy provide a dual experience in the job-search process.
The sessions are free, but donations are welcomed. The next meeting, “Effective Communications for Life and Work,” will be held on Mon., April 27th from 12:30 p.m. -1:30 p.m. 74 Trinity Place, 2nd floor parlor. The following meeting “Proven, Effective Strategies for a Personalized Career Path” will be on Mon., May 4th from 12:00 p.m.- 1:30 p.m.
