City Councilman Peter Vallone Jr. is pushing a new bill calling for the late Ed Koch’s name to be dropped from the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge and instead be appended to another structure in New York City — the Manhattan Municipal Building.
"I wanted to start the process so the Queens elected officials who come after me can restore the Queensboro Bridge to its rightful owners while simultaneously providing an appropriate honor for the late Mayor Koch," Vallone said in a statement Tuesday.
The bridge was renamed in 2011 to honor Koch, who died on Feb. 1 at the age of 88.
