Villager’s Caswell in Connecticut show

For its first exhibition, the new Museum of Brooklyn Art and Culture — which is actually located in Bridgeport, Conn., not Brooklyn — will host “Edward C. Caswell, Art and Correspondence,” featuring the life and work of the illustrator whose drawings of Greenwich Village landmarks and scenes graced the front page of The Villager for many years.

Caswell (1879-1963) moved from Brooklyn Heights to the Chelsea Hotel in the 1930s. The show, which will also include photos, original artwork and correspondence, will run from March 1-21. For more information, visit www.petersnewyork.com.
