Brooklyn Bridge for Young Engineers Dr. Phil will play John Augustus Roebling as he takes participants on a 45-minute tour designed especially for kids ages 8-12. Films for Kids "Onenhakenra: White Seed," Mohawks of the Akwesasne Reservation talk about the role of corn in their culture and show the making of traditional corn soup and corn husk dolls. "How Wesakechak Got His Name," "Wolf Tale: Legend of the Caribou" and "Stories from the Seventh Fire" series. Segments from an animation series include a traditional Anishnabe tale in which Wesakechak, the Trickster, learns that a name of importance must be earned, and a story of how Mother Wolf teaches that creatures of small size can be powerful. Summer Camp at South Street Seaport For two weeks in mid-to-late August, campers will explore the history of New York through exciting workshops taught by artists and museum educators. Each week-long session takes advantage of the Museum’s unique resources to investigate topics in marine and environmental science, archaeology and history through a curriculum that involves hands-on learning, creative arts projects and opportunities to explore the city’s waterways aboard the 1885 schooner Pioneer.
