The Jewish New Year of trees Tu B’Shvat is a great time to study the Jewish relationship with nature. Films for Kids View “Vnoksetv/Greedy,” A clay animation by Muscogee Creek school children that tells a traditional Creek story. “Tales of Wesakechak: The First Spring Flood,” In the time before people were on Turtle Island (North America), the Creator put the trickster Wesakechak on earth to take care of all creatures. When he is tricked by the jealous spirit Machias, his friends come to help. Also “Dab Iyiyuu: First Steps,” A Cree community in northern Ontario observes the traditional celebration of the “first steps” of its very young children.
