A teenager was shot and seriously wounded inside a Brooklyn public housing complex on Saturday afternoon, police reported.

Law enforcement sources said the shooting happened inside the Brevoort Houses at 1831 Fulton St., off Buffalo Avenue, in Bedford-Stuyvesant at about 4:44 p.m. on May 31.

Officers from the 81st Precinct responded to the location after receiving a 911 call about the incident. 

Upon arrival, cops located the victim, a 16-year-old boy, inside the location with a gunshot wound to his stomach.

The motive for the shooting remains unknown at this time, police reported.

EMS rushed the victim to Kings County Hospital in critical condition, but he has since been updated to stable condition, police sources said Saturday night.

So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation. The NYPD has not yet provided a suspect’s description.

Through May 25, the 81st Precinct recorded five shooting incidents with seven victims year-to-date — up from the four shootings with five victims tallied at the same point in 2024.
