Detectives are searching for two men in connection with the fatal shooting of a 34-year-old man Thursday evening in Manhattanville, police said.
The homicide occurred around 5:03 p.m. on April 17 inside the lobby of the Manhattanville Houses, a public housing complex at 545 W. 126th St., according to the NYPD.
Officers from the 26th Precinct responded to a 911 call about an assault in progress and found the victim, Christopher Jimenez, with a gunshot wound to the chest.
EMS transported Jimenez to Mount Sinai Morningside, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators recovered shell casings at the scene and are searching for two men in connection with the shooting.
One suspect was last seen wearing all black, and the other was seen wearing gray sweatpants and a blue sweatshirt, police said. Both fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
The April 17 shooting marks the first homicide and first shooting incident of the year in the 26th Precinct, according to NYPD data.
