The Giants remain diligent within the 2025 NFL Draft’s quarterback prospect market, as they will be holding private workouts for Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, Alabama’s Jalen Milroe, and Louisville’s Tyler Shough, as first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Once a position that was considered a certainty to be taken with their No. 3 overall selection, the Giants signed a pair of veteran quarterbacks in Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. It presents New York with the necessary flexibility to draft a game-changing talent elsewhere, such as Penn State’s Abdul Carter or Colorado’s cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter.
Still, a future franchise quarterback is amongst general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll’s priorities, but significant interest in other passers on the draft board suggests they could take one with a later pick.
The only way the Giants are getting Sanders is if they use that No. 3 pick on him. The Colorado product is considered the second-best quarterback, in the draft class behind Miami’s Cam Ward. In 2024, he led the country with 353 completions for 4,134 yards, and 37 touchdowns.
Milroe fits the mold of what Schoen and Daboll liked with Josh Allen while with the Buffalo Bills and what they attempted to build Daniel Jones into. The Alabama product threw for 2,844 yards and rushed for another 726 with 36 total touchdowns.
Shough has proven to be more of a pure passer with Louisville, though his composure in the pocket and his ability to improvise are questionable. The 25-year-old appeared across seven different seasons, passing for 3,195 yards with 23 touchdowns and six interceptions last year.
While Milroe could be a late-first, early second-round pick, Shough is projected to be a third-round selection.
