The New York Knicks have been a strong second-half team over their recent six game winning streak and that was clearly evident in the 112-100 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night. OG Anunoby led the Knicks scoring charge with 25 points, while Luka Doncic led the Lakers with 30 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assists in the loss for L.A.

“Good win by our guys,” Knicks coach Mike Brown said postgame. “In the first half, we didn’t play like we should have defensively. There were five 50-50 balls in the second quarter and we got one of them… there were seven 50-50 balls in the second half and we got all seven of them.”

Josh Hart totaled 20 points on 8 of 11 shooting, but his impact on the defensive end earned praise from his coach. “Josh was our defensive player of the game. You’re not stopping a guy like Luka, but he did a fantastic job navigating the pick and rolls in the second half against him.”

LeBron James totaled 22 points, six assists and five rebounds in what could be his final road contests in the Big Apple. Earlier on Sunday, James was selected for his 22nd consecutive All-Star game as a reserve selection in the Western Conference.

Karl-Anthony Towns was also announced as an All-Star representative and he makes his third consecutive appearance at the mid-season classic where he joins starting guard Jalen Brunson on the Eastern Conference squad at Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California on Feb. 15, 2026.

There is still some work to be done for the Knicks with six games remaining before the mid-February break. New York will look to extend their winning streak to a season-high seven games when they visit the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night in Washington, D.C., for a 7 pm tip off.
