The MTA will sell limited edition MetroCards celebrating the 25th season of the New York-based NBC police procedural “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”

The 50,000 MetroCards sold at select Manhattan subway stops feature Mariska Hargitay’s character Captain Olivia Benson, who has appeared on every season of the show since it premiered in 1999 and is now the captain of the NYPD’s Manhattan Special Victims Unit on the show.

Hargitay, who won an Emmy Award in 2006 for her performance as Benson, has portrayed her character longer than any other actor in the history of US live-action primetime TV.

Centered on police and prosecutors tackling sex crimes, ‘SVU’ is mainly filmed on location in New York City.

The MetroCards will be sold at five stations in Midtown Manhattan starting on April 5, including:

  • 47th-50th Sts-Rockefeller Center (B/D/F/M)
  • Times Square-42nd St (N/Q/R/W/S/1/2/3/7)
  • Grand Central-42nd St (4/5/6/7/S)
  • 34th Street-Penn Station (A/C/E)
  • 42nd Street-Port Authority Bus Terminal (A/C/E)
