Bronx man dies after he was shot in the chest in his apartment building: cops

Police are investigating the death of a Bronx man who was found shot inside of his apartment building on Monday night.

At 9:12 p.m. on Feb. 3, the NYPD responded to a 911 call regarding a man shot at a residence on White Plains Road near E 239th Street. Upon their arrival, officers found 43-year-old Shameek Lilly in the lobby of the building with a gunshot wound to his chest.

EMS rushed Lilly to Montefiore Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. 

No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
