Autumn is the season of dinner parties, and what better way to ring in the season than with a killer cocktail menu? Celebrity caterer Andrea Correale, who is founder and president of Elegant Affairs, believes a well-coordinated cocktail menu is just as important as a dinner party's food menu. "Going out your way to get that special glass or making that really special drink garnish makes all the difference in the world," she said. "It's all about the details." So what's the secret to the best-tasting cocktail? Correale, whose clientele includes stars like Mariah Carey and Kevin Costner, said swapping simple syrups with sweeteners such as agave and honey will elevate the taste and quality of the cocktail. "The same goes for juices. Instead of mixing orange juice or pineapple juice, go for a natural, squeezed juice, even if it's apple juice," she said. So put down the classic pumpkin spice latte and whip up some drinks either for friends or to wind down on a random weekday. Just trust us. These delicious cocktails, created by Correale, will remind you that the cool fall air is way better than the muggy summer. Arabesque Photo Credit: Elegant Affairs Ingredients: 3 ounces bourbon 1 teaspoons fig and bay leaf marmalade 1/2 ounce honey 1/2 ounce lemon juice 1-2 teaspoons hibiscus grenadine to brighten up the boozy flavors Method: Combine all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Strain out into a glass filled with ice and garnish with figs. Hot apple pie Photo Credit: Elegant Affairs Ingredients: 2 ounces Tuaca (an Italian liqueur with hints of citrus and vanilla) Hot apple cider Whipped cream Cinnamon stick for garnish Method: Pour the Tuaca in an Irish coffee glass. Fill with hot apple cider. Top with whipped cream. Garnish with a cinnamon stick. Winds of fall Photo Credit: Elegant Affairs Ingredients: 2 ounces bourbon 1/2 ounce lemon juice 1/2 ounce maple syrup 1 ounce fresh organic apple juice 1 ounce passion fruit juice 1/4 ounce Campari 1 teaspoon honey Method: Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Put into a glass and garnish with apple slices. S'moretini Photo Credit: Elegant Affairs Ingredients: 32 ounces vodka 16 ounces chocolate liqueur 1 sleeve graham crackers (or more if needed) 1 jar marshmallow creme (or Marshmallow Fluff) 1 bag wooden skewers 1 bag miniature marshmallows Method: Pour vodka and chocolate liqueur into a 64-oz. pitcher and stir. Refrigerate for several hours until very cold. Crush graham crackers and place into a small bowl. Rim 16 martini glasses with marshmallow creme. Dip glasses into graham cracker crumbs and shake gently to remove excess. Place marshmallows on skewers and toast over an open flame (grill or fire pit preferably). Pour 3 ounces of cold drink mixture into each prepared glass and garnish with toasted marshmallow. Absolut Concord Collins Photo Credit: Absolut Vodka Ingredients: A highball glass 1 1/2 ounces Absolut Vodka 1 1/2 ounces Concord grape juice 1/2 ounce lime juice 1/2 ounce maraschino liquor soda Concord grapes for garnish Method: Build all ingredients in a highball glass and top with soda. Garnish with concord grapes. Pumpkin martini Photo Credit: Elegant Affairs Ingredients: 1/2 ounce Sylk Cream Liqueur 2 ounces vanilla vodka 1/2 ounce pumpkin liqueur or pumpkin spice syrup Whipped cream Cinnamon stick for garnish Method: Pour the Sylk Liqueur and vodka into a shaker filled with ice and shake well. Add the pumpkin liqueur or syrup and shake again. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Top with a teaspoon of whipped cream and garnish with a cinnamon stick. Absolut Masquerade Photo Credit: Absolut Vodka Ingredients: 1 1/2 ounces Absolut Vodka 2 ounces black currant juice 1/2 ounce chartreuse Method: Stir ingredients with ice. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Spiked banana rum dessert cocktail Photo Credit: Elegant Affairs Ingredients: 1/4 cup milk 2 tablespoons light rum 2 tablespoons Crème De Cacao 2 bananas 1 to 2 cups of vanilla bean ice cream Fresh fig to garnish Method: Place all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth. Pour the mixture into a highball glass and garnish with a fresh fig skewer. Autumn pear cocktail Photo Credit: Elegant Affairs Ingredients 1 1/2 ounces tequila 3 to 4 ounces pear nectar Tiny dash of cinnamon 1 drop vanilla extract Light drizzle of honey Half of a lemon, juiced Cinnamon stick Sliced pear for garnish Method: Fill your glass of choice with ice. Pour in the tequila and pear nectar. Add the cinnamon, vanilla and honey to the glass. Squeeze in half a lemon's worth of juice. Mix by pouring into a cocktail shaker or another glass, give it a shake or stir well, then pour it back into the original glass. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and sliced pear. Spiked apple cider Photo Credit: Elegant Affairs Ingredients: 1/4 gallon apple cider 1/2 cup dark rum 1/2 cup cinnamon schnapps 1 Granny Smith apple, peeled, cut into large chunks 1/2 lemon, juiced Method: Mix together the cider, rum and schnapps in a large pitcher. Add the apples to a small bowl and toss them with the lemon juice. Thread the diced apples onto skewers. Pour the spiked cider into glasses filled with ice, then garnish with an apple skewer and serve. Absolut Orchard Fizz Photo Credit: Absolut Vodka Ingredients: A collins glass 1 1/2 ounces Absolut Vodka 1 ounce pear puree or nectar 1 ounce apple juice 1/2 ounce maple syrup soda lemon wedge and nutmeg for garnish Method: Shake all of the ingredients with ice. Strain into a collins glass with ice. Top with soda and garnish with a lemon wedge and nutmeg. Milagro Tequila Hot Toddy Photo Credit: Milagro Tequila Ingredients: 1 1/2 parts Milagro Añejo Tequila 1 part agave nectar 4 cloves, each 1 whole cinnamon stick, each 1 anise star, each 4 parts boiling water 1 lemon wheel, each Method: Combine agave nectar, spices and tequila in a heat-resistant snifter or mug. Add the boiling water. Squeeze in lemon, drop it in, and stir until agave nectar has melted. Maple whiskey old fashioned Photo Credit: Elegant Affairs Ingredients: 2 ounces bourbon whiskey 1/2 ounces maple syrup Slice of bacon (optional) Dash of bitters Method Measure maple syrup into a glass. Add some ice, pour in bourbon a bit at a time, stirring in between to ensure you've properly combined it with the syrup. Add a splash of bitters. Rub an orange slice around the inside of a rocks glass, add fresh ice, and strain the bourbon mixture into the rocks glass. Garnish with a bacon slice and serve. Milagro Tequila Hot Chocolate Photo Credit: Milagro Tequila Ingredients: 1 1/2 parts Milagro Añejo Tequila 3 parts hot chocolate powder 1 pinch chili chocolate bar, grated heavy cream whipped cream Method: Build in a clear mug or other drink vessel suitable for hot beverages. Top with whipped cream and chili chocolate shavings. Absolut Pumpkin Mule Photo Credit: Absolut Vodka Ingredients: glass: copper mug 1 1/2 ounces Absolut Vodka 1 ounces black tea 1/2 ounces pumpkin spice syrup (Monin or other) 1/2 ounces lemon juice ginger beer star anise for garnish Method: Shake all ingredients with ice. Strain over ice in a copper mug. Top with ginger beer. Garnish with a star anise pod. Absolut Caramel Apple Mule Photo Credit: Absolut Vodka Ingredients: A wooden mug 1 1/2 ounces Absolut Vodka 1/2 ounces caramel syrup 1 ounce apple cider ginger beer sliced apple fan for garnish Method: Shake all of the ingredients with ice. Strain into wooden mug over ice, top with ginger beer. Garnish with apple fan.
