Seven kids, ages 5 to 14, from across the country who have won regional contests will compete with sneakers that are judged on odor, condition and back stories of how they ended up so dirty and smelly. Stroke: From Under the

Mattress to the Museum Walls

Erotic illustrations from artists who created works for gay male magazines from the 1950s to the 1990s are coming out from under the mattress and populating the walls of the Leslie-

Lohman Museum. Stop by to see this exhibit that offers a peek into the private lives of gay males in the second half of the 20th century. An opening reception will be held this Friday, 6-8 p.m. The exhibit runs through May 25.
