Because Gwyneth Paltrow is one of the few A-list celebrities known for protecting her privacy, it is especially shocking that she recently opened up about one of the most heartbreaking experiences a woman can go through: a miscarriage.
Paltrow, 40, who is mom to Apple, 8, and Moses, 6, with husband, Chris Martin, told the Mail on Sunday’s You magazine she miscarried with her third child.
“I had a really bad experience when I was pregnant with my third," she says in the interview in the U.K. publication. "It didn’t work out, and I nearly died. So I am like, ‘Are we good here, or should we go back and try again?’ “
The actress doesn’t offer further details about the miscarriage or when it happened, but does reveal she is "thinking about" having another baby, and that her two children ask for another sibling "all the time."
"You never know, I could squeeze one more in,” she says. “I am missing my third."
Whether they do expand their brood, Paltrow made it clear she has the utmost faith in her Coldplay frontman beau when it comes to daddy duty.
“Regardless of what happens in our marriage, I chose the best father,” she says. “He is so good to the children, and to know that you had kids with such a good man is like a real weight off you. We are committed co-parents, we make all decisions together, and we lean on each other for support as well.”
