NYC discounted tickets to Broadway shows, New York City Ballet, Carnegie Hall

In need of some tricks to get cheap tickets around the city? We've got you covered.

With new shows opening on Broadway this spring, including "Waitress," "American Psycho" and "The Crucible," it's not easy to keep up financially while fulfilling your entertainment interests.

Here are some ways to score discounted tickets.

With three locations around the city in Times Square, Downtown Brooklyn and the South Street Seaport, TKTS offers 20 to 50 percent off discounts on select Broadway and Off Broadway shows every day. Tickets must be purchased at a TKTS booth for same-day performances with a limit of six tickets per person. The Broadway show offerings include "An American in Paris," "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical," "Chicago" and "Finding Neverland" to name a few, although ticket availability fluctuates by day and location. If you're not into musicals, make your way to the Times Square booth where you can get on the often shorter "Play Express" line to purchase tickets to plays only. Check out the TKTS website for hours and locations of individual booths.

The show is currently offering 21 $10 front row seats to the show daily through an online application system. Other Broadway shows also offer lotteries, both in person at the theater or online. The rules differ for each show regarding details on how to enter and how many tickets are available.
