Entertainment 'The Hunger Games' exhibition: 5 can't miss artifacts By Scott A. Rosenberg Updated July 5, 2015 3:57 PM Print Share fbShare Tweet Email "The Hunger Games" has turned into a phenomenon, with best-selling books, hit movies and tons of products that collectors, if you'll forgive the pun, hunger for. And now there's "The Hunger Games: The Exhibition" at Discovery Times Square with more than 1,000 authentic props and recreations of different scenes from the films, and many interactive displays that will both test and expand the knowledge of any fan, not to mention tease the upcoming movie. Here are five things you must see at the exhibition. Hall of Justice set recreation Photo Credit: Marion Curtis/StarPix Elizabeth Banks wore some incredibly memorable costumes as Effie Trinket, and this ensemble, complete with the pink flower in the tufts of hair, is one of the finest. The Hall of Justice recreation is complete with the tables holding the large reaping bowls and the microphone. Tribute Parade Chariot Photo Credit: Marion Curtis/StarPix The actual screen-used chariot is here, along with the outfits worn by Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). Be sure to check out the amazing detail on the wheels. Victory Party set recreation Photo Credit: Marion Curtis/StarPix While you can't sample any of the tasty looking grub at this recreation of the victory party, you can check out the table settings and glassware, as well as formal clothing for Katniss, Peeta, Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman) and Haymitch Abernathy (Woody Harrelson). And if you must have some treats, go to the DC Cupcakes Cafe at the venue after you're done exploring the exhibition. This large digital display lets people investigate all the different districts of Panem, with information about the land, the people and more. Here's a little tip -- if you stick around for a few minutes, a special link appears to let you learn more about District 13.
