NYPD detectives are investigating after a Brooklyn block party Saturday night ended with a man shot and killed.

Police said officers from the 72nd Precinct responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at 57th Street and Fourth Avenue in Sunset Park. When they arrived, they found 45-year-old Roberto Cuevas with a gunshot wound to the back amid the remnants of the party.

Emergency medical personnel took Cuevas to NYU Langone Hospital–Brooklyn in critical condition. He later died from his injuries.

Law enforcement sources said Cuevas had argued with another man at the party before the dispute escalated into the deadly shooting.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
