Cops need the public’s help in finding a man wanted for questioning for a recent homicide inside a Brooklyn apartment.

Detectives want to talk to Jose Mendoza, 34, for his alleged role in the Feb. 7 death of Leslie Lee, 72, a resident of Gravesend’s Marlboro Houses. A source familiar with the case said they were friends.

Lee was found dead inside the bedroom of an apartment on West 11th Street in Gravesend at about 11:17 p.m. on Feb. 7.

A preliminary investigation indicated that Lee succumbed to an apparent overdose, sources familiar with the case said. However, the Daily News reported, an autopsy revealed that Lee had been choked and hit on the head.

It was further reported that Lee was with a female friend at the time of his death.

Mendoza stands at 6 feet tall and weighs about 200 pounds.

amNewYork reached out to the NYPD for further information on the case, and is awaiting a response.
