Police are seeking a woman as a suspect in the shooting death of a 48-year-old man in an apartment in a Brooklyn housing development Thursday night, police officials reported Friday.

Authorities say that at 10:10 p.m. on May 7, officers from the 73rd Precinct responded to a call regarding a man shot in the hallway at the Seth Low Houses, located at 180 Powell St. in Brownsville.

Upon their arrival, officers found a 48-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his chest.

The victim, shot multiple times, was found unconscious and unresponsive and rushed to Brookdale University medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Police have withheld his identity, pending family notifications.

Officers took a man into custody in connection with the shooting, but cops on the scene said they were also looking for a female suspect wearing a pink blouse.

After a search outside the building, police found a handgun and a red sweatshirt in the trash in front of 131 Belmont Avenue and were attempting to confirm that this was the murder weapon.

No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
