Mob of brutes wanted for pummeling man with fists during East Village robbery

Cops released disturbing video of a group of attackers who clobbered a 29-year-old man on an East Village street and robbed him during a daytime attack on Wednesday.

The incident happened at about 12:42 p.m. on Jan. 13 in the area of 1st Avenue and East 3rd Street.

According to law enforcement sources, the unidentified group of individuals approached and surrounded the victim, then went on the attack. 

Police said the brutes punched the man multiple times about the body, then forcibly removed his cellphone. A bystander took video of the suspects while the assault was in progress.

Following the attack, the group fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Officers from the 9th Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. Paramedics brought the victim to Bellevue Hospital for treatment of a fractured jaw; he was listed in stable condition.
