Cops are looking to identify the perpetrator behind a seemingly random attack in Greenwich Village shortly after the ball dropped on New Year’s Eve.

The victim — a 38-year-old man — told police he was walking near 82 Greenwich Street at around 1:40 a.m. on Jan. 1 when an unknown assailant slashed him in the face above the left eye. The suspect fled the scene of the crime on foot while the victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.

The person cops believe to be a suspect was caught on camera hopping the turnstile to get into a nearby subway station. He is seen in the video wearing a light blue button-down shirt with short sleeves and long hair.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
