Sunday was the final day of the maritime festival hosted by the North River Historic Ship Society and the Friends of Hudson River Park. The festival, held at Pier 25, marked the opening of the first historic ship pier in Hudson River Park.
The Lehigh Valley Railroad Barge, the 104-year-old tug Pegasus and the 173-foot former Coast Guard Lighthouse Tender, Lilac, built in 1933, were all docked at the pier. Sunday featured a circus on the Lehigh Valley to simulate an old-fashioned showboat, as well as a photography exhibit on the Lilac.
