Community Board 1’s  Jan. 26 meeting will be held in the observatory atop 1 World Trade Center. The meeting is open to the public, so civic-minded Downtowners who attend can visit One World Observatory for free. Normally, tickets are $32 for adults, $26 for children.

State Sen. Daniel Squadron worked with Legends, the company that runs the observatory, to secure the space for CB1’s January meeting.

Only 125 people — including the board members — can be up in the observatory at a time, so come early. Also, be sure to bring a photo ID, which is required to enter the building.

Enter off the West Plaza at West and Vesey Sts. through the One World Observatory Box Office and head down the escalator to a desk on the right of the “VIP Pass” lane, where you will be asked to sign in.

The observatory opened to rave reviews at the end of May last year. And the view from the top isn’t the only spectacle it offers. During the 47-second elevator ride up, floor-to-ceiling high definition televisions display a time-lapse video that shows the evolution of the city skyline

The entrance for the observatory is at the corner of West and Vesey Sts.
